How do I Change the Shortcuts in the Quick Panel?
« on: February 18, 2016, 02:04:36 pm »
Hey guys,

Been really loving the idea behind Tablet Pro on my Surface Pro 2, really great potential for simplifying the use of Windows Tablets with advanced Desktop Class applications. However, I think there's still some room for improvement to make it more ideal.

One simple improvement I'd love to see the ability to select custom layouts to be shortcuts in the quick panel. At the moment, I  can't quickly enable the Side (Right) layout, which I customized to my liking. Or is there something I'm missing that can already achieve this  ???

Thanks in advance.

Hi Raaomoka

I agree with you. Ideally we would like to be able to give the ability to fully customize the quick panel. We aren't there yet. In the mean time what you can do is bring the mouse pointer up to the closed quick panel (or open, both work, but closed is faster) right click and choose "right" from that menu. Pretty fast, I'd like faster.

Hope this helps!

Good walk-around for now, also works with touch initiation; Swipe Down to Show Quick Panel > Tap and hold on Quick Panel for context menu > Select Side (Right).

Looking forward to being able to customize the quick panel  :)

Raaomoka, when in float mode you can drag the float pad around with two fingers to top bottom left right.
As long as under float mode Force Move Pad is enabled.

@julianjc84

But that doesn't go directly to the Side (Right) mode, which I've customized to my liking and is the mode I want to quickly switch to...

I will try this when I am home but side right and float mode are the same modes.
Float mode should remember the last used position. Float Mode will only remember the last used floating position. Not the docked position. However it is very easy to drag to the right to get the docked right mode as a workaround.
If you drag the float into side right mode, when you use the quick menu and tap float mode it should activate and deactivate with one click This is not the case and just toggles to the Floating box.

Maybe one day, one update more control over quick panel. but i think its probably pretty low on the schedule.
